The Friendly Zamboni

Last night we brought Nathan to skate for the 2nd time. He was able to walk a couple steps. Grandpa was helping on the side of the rink and I asked Nathan to come to me. I was about 3 steps away from him at start. As he walks towards me I kept skating away from him and you can tell he did not like the idea. :P





There were a couple of time he lost a bit of balance. He manage to lower his center of gravity and kept his feet on the ice. So far he has not fell yet.





The main attraction was not skating itself but the Zamboni. The Zamboni smooths the ice at the end of the skating session. Nathan had been asking to see the Zamboni since stepping into the rink. He was very excited when the Zamboni came out and waved to it. The friendly driver noticed and waved back at the 1st round. The 2nd round he flash the head lights a couple of times at Nathan to say hello. The 3rd round he extended his arm and gave a high five to Nathan. As the result of the distraction when giving Nathan a high five. The driver had to make an extra round to cover the missed area. Nathan just can't stop smiling when looking at it :D

First Time on ICE!!

We finally found a pair of learning skate for Nathan (with 2 blades per shoe). The Zamboni came out to wipe the ice when we arrive and Nathan was very excited seeing the zamboni smoothing the ice. It has been a while since I last skate myself so I was prepared for a couple of falls for Nathan. But lucky neither of us fell.

Nathan is a pretty fast learner and start getting a hold of it after a couple of rounds
