Cafe Hollywood

Our favorite restaurant.

Pencil crayons on Etched glass

It's now quite done yet,  but my goal is the fill the whole thing with colour.   Hopefully this will be done before Nathan turns 16.

I enjoyed colouring so much that I bought artist pencil crayons with 60 different colors.  (It got really frustrating when I started off with 12....)  I have never been good with colour,  and this time with so many different but yet very similar pallette,  I think I am starting to understand colours a little bit better.

Another neat thing is colouring on glass.  It's the back that is actually showing.  So if you want the colour the show,  you would actually try to cover it as much as possible if you are blending colours.

Finally, maybe next time some planning of what to draw and what colour to use, instead of impulsively putting whatever wherever in however colour I want may not be the best idea.

And if you look closely,  you can see that I have completely erased some of the picture.   Yep, pencil crayons on eteched class are erasable.

Green onion

With the climbing price of grocery, one would notice that all your friend is now growing green onion in their own kitchen.
1.  Must change water daily.
2.  Do not put too much water (not pass the white bulb)
3.  They grow much faster when they are placed near a window, with an except of super cold weather.  When it gets really cold outside, bring your green onion away from the window to avoid the draft.

Happy 4th brithday Owen!

Stencil Art

I really like this stencil art kit that we got from Costco.  It came with different colour sponges with different colour handles. NN have been creating some really nice stencil art.  Too bad those ink pads run dry quite quickly.  We still need to go get some refills soon.
