Summer swimming Graduation

Last swimming class for the summer, we got to go watch NN swim.  Mommy was quite proud of NN's progress.  It was neat watching Nathan doing butterfly (well sort of butterfly :).  Naomi's swim strokes are very nice, and she can now do front, back, and froggy.  Great Job, kids! 

Thank you Auntie Shirley!  You are the best swimming teacher.  Of course, thanks to Justin, Jason, Jackie, and Uncle Alfred too!  NN love this swimming school.

Burd's Family Fishing

Since daddy is busy, and mommy is reluctant in bringing NN on a boat without daddy's help, we caved in and went to fish rainbow trout instead.   Admission:  $5 each.  Rod rental:  $5 each.  Fish:  Keep what you catch, $10 / pound.  Quite pricey, but it's a nice environment.

 Naomi caught the biggest fish, after 5 seconds when the bait touched the water.

 Keep jumping.  Nathan now wanted to hold it while Naomi tried hard posing for the picture.

 wow jumping again.... so Nathan jumped too. 

 Finally grandpa held the fish and in attempted of another picture, the fish jumped again...

 Nathan:  Got another one

Why did Naomi look so serious?  The fish that Nathan caught was bleeding profoundly.  Naomi got really sad and kept saying "the fishing is dying, the fish is dying".

 And very much like mommy, Naomi just said there the whole time waiting for other people to take care of the mess.

See how awkward Nathan's expression was?  It was because he hated the fact that I kept distracting him for pictures.  He said:  "Mommy, I have to focus!"

Naomi at one point wanted to catch the worms.  She put her hand in the cup, and pull her hand back because she didn't know how to approach the wormy.  So I asked Nathan to grab a worm and put in on Naomi's hand.  I believed she was a little gross out by it.  But she still gave me a great pretend smile for the pictures.  Very quickly she dumped the worm and asked for a wet wipe to clean her hand.  :)
