NN 夾理虾爸爸

This is the usual routine after dinner. Victor would play with them while mom is getting ready for bed. That's some quality time for them because Victor doesn't usually get home until 7:00pm, but Naomi goes to bed at 8'ish. It's great seeing them playing together because Naomi would grab his glasses while Nathan would sit on him, ambushing him. (pictures taken: 2008.11.17)

Nathan's bday party at home (Part II)

Nathan had yet another birthday party on Saturday night. This time we celebrated with Roberto 叔叔, Bonnie 姨姨, 光頭叔叔, and 徳徳姨姨.

He was playing Bowling with the uncles. The rule of the game is the throw the ball towards the pins and strike. But Nathan's rule is to be the ball and throw himself towards the pins. A little cheater in fact.

It was also Bonnie's birthday as well. Nathan sang a nice birthday song for himself. His birthday song is still a little tone deaf. But if you compare it to the old version (from his dad's birthday on Jun 27, 2008), at least he knows how to end the song instead of singing "happy birthday to you" infinitely.

Christmas party 08!

We had our family gathering at 姑婆's house on Christmas day. It was such a wonderful night. We get to see our beloved relatives that we don't get to see too often. Besides the lovely smell of turkey, beef stew curry, and many more yummy food, you can literally smell the love and happiness in the air.
And as one can see, Nathan and Naomi were spoiled badly by everyone. They had so much fun.

Within the adults, the conversation was surrounding camera. We must give credit to all the photos from that day to 浩舅父 and Kitty 舅母. Victor and I didn't even take any photos. They are nice eh! (pictures taken: 2008.12.25)

Nathan's birthday

We had a little birthday party at home for Nathan's 3rd birthday on his 正日. Nathan helped out with the decorations. He was trying to use that cheap pump from dollar store where the balloon keeps on flying off from the tip. But he didn't give up and kept trying. Good boy.Yummy food from 爺爺. He made 蝦多士for us. (Nathan asked: "蝦多士係唔係好多屎咖)?
Then Naomi showed lots of interest to the decorations. So of course廿四孝爺爺立即抱她上前玩啦! Hee Hee, she almost ripped the whole thing out la.
Then for sure Nathan wanted to play with the decoration too. See how he 出可愛樣 to ask 爺爺. 十分奸啦.

And of course birthday kiss from 妺妺. 好大好大的吻呀!
We bought this birthday cake, 黑森林, which was not too fresh. All the fruits were watery and all flew off to the side of the cake instead of the top.
Finally, the fourth attempts of the 全家福 and everybody was smiling nicely (almost, except maybe 小雅悠.) (Pictures taken 2008.12.23)

舞動全城

It was Auntie Grace and Uncle Glen's wedding. Nathan was dancing with Samantha.

Too bad that we had to go early because Naomi was too tired. We heard that a lot of people were dancing later on that night, especially Anson 仔. He refused to go home because he had too much fun.

Nathan's bday party at Anson's house

Nathan had a wonderful birthday at Uncle Johnson, Auntie Anne Anne, and Anson 仔's house last Saturday. Thank you Uncle Johnson for cleaning up the house and clearing out some of the toys. (Can you see they still have lots of toys. It's like a toy store there.) Also thank you to Auntie NN for all the food. It was actually Auntie NN's birthday that day. Happy Birthday to you la. I hope you had fun like we all did too!
Auntie NN bought this waffle machine and we used it for the first time. Hee hee, it wasn't very successful at first. It bacame waffle-skin. But after Uncle Johnson made great effort to improve the techniques, we all had wonderful-good-looking-yummy-waffle with ice-cream, fruit, and chocolate fudge.

契爺played with 妺妺.

Nathan and Anson playing seriously on the train set. Uncle vor vor (Trevor) later on joined them and designed a new track with them. Nathan really misses Uncle vor vor and actually requested Uncle vor vor to come to our house to play. (I guess we have to invite them over for dinner sometimes later on.)

Thank you every uncles, aunties, and friends for coming to Nathan's birthday party and all the gifts. Everybody knows that he likes airplane or cars and he loves them all. Nathan is blowing kissing to everybody. (pictures taken: 2008.12.20)

Pig tail

Take a look at the lovely Hello kitty hair clips. They are one of the many hair accessories from Auntie Maggie Por. We saw little Madelyn (my collegiate's little girl who is 6 months) in pig tails, so we thought we could give it a try. Cute eh. It's difficult to find hair accessories that work on baby's hair. They are so few and fine. We bought this hair elastics from the dollar store that look like the little elastics for people's braces. When I first tried the elastic on Naomi, I actually tied it too loosely that they fell of in the playpen that she almost swallowed them. EEEE---嚇死我!

Naomi's hair is actually quite hard that even when we removed the elastics, it will still be sticking up. And Nathan asked, "哈哈，點解妹妹個頭會生咗兩隻角 ga?" (picture taken: 2008.11.14)

Our royal dress

We like this dress. It's really "royal". Just like what Nathan says: every time when Mui mui wears a dress, Nathan would refer her as "pretend to be" 小公主. This is the second time she wears this dress, but it's getting tight around her chest.

The great thing with Naomi is that as long as she has enough sleep, she will always give you the brightest smile.

Nathan's Christmas Tree

Nathan is old enough to appreciate Christmas tree. He would say "BB really wants a Christmas tree ah." And when we go out to the mall, he would request to take pictures in front of every single tree that we walk pass. But since we are selling our house, we don't want to put up our 6.5 feet tall Christmas tree. So we took him to the dollar store and bought him a small tree. (for $2) He even picked the ornaments himself. He loves his Christmas tree. He helped thread ribbons through the holes, then hanged the ornaments up himself. And because the tree is so small, he would walk around the house with it, bring it everywhere he goes. (picture taken: 2008.11.22)




He really do care about his Christmas Tree. We places the tree in the living room where he usually plays. One night Victor read Grinch with him and he start worrying about Grinch will steal his tree and insisted placing the tree by his bed so he can safe guard it.

炸釀雞翼

This is what we had the other day for dinner, cooked by 爺爺. Don't think that it's any special event that he would cook these really complicated and time consuming dishes. Just to give you some insight on how many steps this stuffed chicken wings required, I will include the recipe. (You can try it, but don't blame me if it doesn't taste as good.)

1. Buy large chicken wings
2. Remove the drum sticks, leaving just the "wing" and the 雞翼尖 attached.
3. Debone the wing part. (Very important to not to break the skin on the outside)
4. Marinade the chicken wings
5. Prepare 蝦"交＂and 皇子菇. (including marinating plus 打 to become the chewy texture.)
6. Stuff #5 into the deboned wings
7. Boil wings to 80% cooked in water with ginger, green onions and maltose
   
8. Air dry
9. Deep fry until golden brown
10. ......(hope I didn't miss any steps)
