Nathan's update

Dear all,

Nathan went for a follow-up appointment with the surgeon. And since Nathan really had to peed, and also, the surgeon really didn't have much person skills, the appointment took less than 3 minutes.

He checked his throat very un-gently, and he said everything look fine......so we waited for him to tell us more, and he just looked at us.......waiting for us to leave.......so I asked can he go to school tomorrow? Yes. Can he play hockey on sat? Yes. Still the same look "are-you-ready-to-leave-yet" look.

But I guess the most important thing is that he is now finally fine. :) Yeah!

We also asked about his voice situation. He said that it would take up to 6 weeks for his voice to be back to normal, or at least close to be normal.....but would never be exactly the same. (He sounds like donald duck right now....)

NN yogurt

NN both loves yogurt drink.

Aside: This picture was drawn by Nathan when he couldn't speak. He was trying to tell me something so he used paintbrust on my phone and tried to tell me......em....I didn't think I figured it out what it wanted.

And Nathan drew this character from Monsters Inc. too.

How is Nathan doing?

Nathan has improved alot. He doesn't need his night time pain medication anymore. As you can see from the video, he is back to what he was before, a funny little boy who likes to joke around and have fun. He is usually harder to deal with in the morning, probably because he still feel the pain in the morning from the long dry night.

His speech is still not back to normal yet because he still hasn't fully recovered yet. He still can't speak clearly yet. Also, his voice is somewhat cartoonish. Hope that it will be back to normal soon cuz I have read before that it is possible for the voice to change. I love his voice before and really don't what it to change.

Meanwhile Nathan is going through all this pain and of course his patience is low and is easily tempered, Naomi has become this perfectly behave, sweet little girl. It's amazing how much they understand. Naomi truly sympathize with Nathan's pain, and is willing to give up mommy's attention for him. She has become superly understanding and obedience. And the winner of the game: Daddy. Now Naomi is more attached to Victor, and is willing to go to places with daddy. Warning to daddy: Enjoy this while it lasts :) Everything will be back to normal very soon, when Nathan is fully recovered.

One more thing. Have you notice how much weight Nathan has lost in this 2 weeks? He was skinny to start off with, and now he is truly skin and bone. And lets take a look at Naomi. She has gained probably 5 lbs in this two weeks as well. It is because she gets all the ice cream and jello just like Nathan through out this two weeks. Her pants has gotten tighter. Keekee

Nathan Gardening

I guess all kids have this think with watering. Nathan loves to do yard work. He has been helping out with taking out the weeds, watering. In this picture, he was cleaning up some of the soil on the sidewalk. He did a giant 360 sprays and got us all wet.

Naomi the little talker

Naomi talks so so much. Very cute.

I had a minor boo boo on my feet, and Naomi was talking about the type of bandage I can use. Spiderman, Dora, etc. Also telling me what to do the take care of the wound.

Nathan's operation update day 6

I had to work today. I was so tired that I didn't even know how to teach. Oh well, my students understood. They even bought me McDonald Hash brown to make me smile. Wonderful.

So Nathan stayed home with grandparents plus Victor. Everything was great. Both Nathan and Naomi behaved so well. Wonderful.

When I got home, things changed. It's like the kids have behaved so well throughout the day that they wait til mommy's home to release their "real self". Nathan said he wanted Jello. So I gave him Jello. And of course Naomi wanted some too. So I did what I usually would have done, scoped a little of Jello from Nathan's cup and gave some to Naomi. Nathan somehow got so angry this time and would not eat the one that is not "full". He went to the fridge and got another one. Now Naomi wanted the "new one" too. Em....How do you end this? Usually, (as is if Nathan is not sick) Nathan would have to share with Naomi and Naomi can only have a little cuz it was too close to dinner anyway. And usually if they cry, that's too bad. But this time, Naomi started crying, which I will not cave in, but how about Nathan? In my head I just knew that I cannot let him cry. So I picked up Naomi and comforted her and distracted her. Naomi stopped crying in a heartbeat. When you think the fuss is over, Nathan was still very mad that he decided to put his hand in the jello and destroyed it. He has never done anything as bad to this extend. So grandma lost it on him. But I just couldn't watch another crying episode. So I calmly removed Nathan from the scene and washed his hand, explained the situation with him, and asked him to apologize to grandma, and he did.

"God please give me strength and help me control my temper" was what I was thinking. I'm on edge but still haven't lost it, and I'm not going to lose it. (Hee hee, no lie, but until he gets better.) How much longer can I live this sleepless life? I don't care, but I will try my best for poor little Nathan. I cannot afford to see him getting hurt again. My heart stops every time I see him jump or walk a little too fast thinking that his scab will fall off too soon and cause bleeding. His face is getting skinnier and skinnier that it hurt my heart every time I pick him up and feeling his bony body, with his pale little face with his eyes getting bigger and bigger. His smile is bitter and sad, but hasn't lost his spark of sense of humour in his eyes, even when he couldn't talk. My bittersweet little baby.

And as we think that we are on a winning street with the pain meds all under control, something bad happened. At 8:00pm, we gave him his Tylenol medication. He accidentally choked and had another painful crying episode. I was worried that he would have hurt himself from the coughing and crying. I knew how much he needed this pain medication, but I didn't have the gut to give him more cuz I wasn't sure how much he actually swallowed and didn't want to OD him. (Uncle Alex was the one that caught the spitted-out Tylenol. Once again, a big thank you) After Nathan stopped crying, everything was fine and they (Victor, Alex, and Nathan) transformed all the transformers into cars and took some pics. Every thing was fine when Nat took his 10:00 pm morphine dose. So in my head, I thought that at 12:00am, even if the Tylenol went a little short, there's still the morphine to take away the pain. Oh boy! He woke up in pain at 11:45 and was just out out out out out of control. I find that comforting him becomes more and more difficult as he is becoming short fuse due to the frustration of not able to communicate with us. He yelled and screamed but we just couldn't understand what he was trying to say. I think he said to take him back to the hospital. It took me a good 20 minutes to comfort him and was finally able to convince him to some ice chip, water, and eventually his medications. (I distracted him by reading a transformer book. Thanks autobots, you have once again save the day.)

Needless to say, I now really appreciate how well our two kids communicate with us. The power of speech. And without it, Nathan became this easily frustrated, more physical, and poor manner little brat. But can you blame him? I couldn't. Please just let him get better real soon. I will deal with his behaviour after he got better. Hopefully this painful episode is due to the scab falling off, meaning the last time he will feel this severe pain ever again.

What happened to kindersurprise?

Since it was Easter, I have received a lot of Kinder Surprise from my co-worker cuz they know that my kids love the surprise, even though they don't really get to eat the chocolate. I know for sure that I brought home a full egg, and this is what it looks like the next day. Was it Nathan? Or Naomi? Or maybe Uncle Alex who gave a hand? Or was it grandpa yea yea? Em.....who was it?

Nathan's operation update day 5

Yep! The medicine cycle works. We are successful in controlling his pain level so he doesn't have to suffer as much finally. Should have tried it earlier.

Tylenol + Gravol at 6:00am
Morphine at 8:00 am
Tylenol at 10:00 am
Morphine + Gravol at 12:00 pm
etc

So by the time the morphine is due, he still has half of the Tylenol and vice versa so that he doesn't want to cry when he takes medication due to pain.

And since his pain level is tolerable, we don't have to wake him up every hour for ice chip if he's asleep. Also, he gets to wet his throat every time he has his medication.

One weird thing thou. Both Gravol and Morphine should make him sleepy, meanwhile he was more energized than a tiger.

But hey, whatever it takes for him to feel better.

Nathan's operation update day 5

Last night, taking medicine was still a little difficult. However we managed to sail through the night without crying.....great improvement. An ice cube once every hour.....I know I know, I am disturbing his sleep, but that's the only way to minimized the pain without taking Morphine.

But then we had another set back. Nathan got angry over something and started crying loudly. And he started bleeding, therefore in lots of pain. We had to lay him down and fed him cold cold ice water to stop the bleeding. Luckily the bleeding stopped really quickly or we would have to go back to the hospital again. I suspect that it was the scab that was falling off. If this is the case, that means he is getting better really really soon. But since his pain is worse again, I have decided to put him back on morphine, while giving him gravol. (I risk the vomitting because it would tear his opening). Hopefully I didn't make the wrong decision. So he is back to this 2 hr morphine, 2 hr Tylenol cycle which should be better for his pain.

Now he is active and awake again, using his pillows to pretend to be a transformer. I really want him to take a nap cuz he was up since the 6:30 medication, but he just isn't tired and kept waking me up when I fall asleep telling him story.

Surgery updates

Nathan did really well today. He even wanted ham and macaroni and finished a good portion of them. Good job. Even though he wasn't talking at all, his facial expression was the fullest. Very funny kid. It's like we were playing charades.

And since he did so well today, mom make a bad mistake --> I didn't wake him up for ice chip for almost 3 hours. I thought he could use a nice sleep. Wow! Was he ever in pain again. It broke my heart when he wouldn't even take any ice chip or even the tiniest sip of water. He was raising his voice wailing and asked me to please take him to a doctor. It took me so so long to be able to comfort him and fed him ice chip and Tylenol eventually. Then he was back to normal again.

I am going to wake him up once every hour for an ice chip. It gets harder second half of the night during the time when he sleeps the deepest and sweetest. But I'm going to try.

Can't imaging what its gonna be like when the scab falls off........Hope the pain is bearable....Poor kid.

Get well soon

Thank you so much for all the love and supports from everybody. Nathan and our whole family truly appreciate all the thoughtfulness from all of you. So so many people tried to put a smile back on our dear little boy's face and we are truly grateful for all of that. All the prayers, phone calls, messages, emails, visits, gifts and DVDs, just couldn't name them all.

A BIG THANKS!

More hospital updates

Some older pictures:

This was taken right before we were going home from the hospital when the nurse took off the gauze from his hand. He covered his nose and said that it was very stinky. It smelled like stinky feet. We thought he was over reacting at that time, but in 2 minutes, he vomitted.

His hand was filled with needle marks. Good that they don't hurt anymore. By looking at the marks, you can tell that the doctors were having a hard time finding his veins for the IV needle. They have made several attempts. Good thing was that they did this while he was asleep already. If not it would have hurt so so much.

Nathaan's operation update day 4

Last night was the first night for Nathan to be sleeping at home, and I was going to pull another all nighter to help him reduce the pain. But since I haven't seen Naomi for 2 days already, I put her to sleep, and accidentally fell asleep myself as well in my lovely bed. And everytime when I tried to get up and go stay with Nathan, Naomi would fuss and was waken up, so I had to sleep more with her. And guess what, Victor ended up had to pull an all nighter instead while mommy was sleeping soundly in her own comfortable bed. (Sorry love :)

Victor said that Nathan still didn't sleep really well cuz I guess the pain was worse at night. So he fed him ice cube every hour or two. And when he woke up this morning, he said that he still felt nausea and had to take another dose of gravol. Yet another improvement because Nathan didn't have to take morphine anymore.

Nathan has definitely improved as you can see his energy level has increased so much since the first day. But he still would not talk. We have to understand his newly invented sign language.

His friendly smile and sense of humour is back. He posed for this picture as his tongue turned blue after his blue jello (very yucky). And we joked that maybe after his yellow Popsicle, his tongue would turn green. And it did.

Nathan's operation update day 3

We are home finally. For the most part, Nathan did really well last night at the hospital. The nurses and I have decided to hold off the Morphine as it upsets Nathan tummy and causing him not wanting to drink anything (which is a big no no because dry throat can cause bleeding) or even worse, vomitting which could tear the wound apart, also a big no no. During the day, Tylenol was a good enough pain killer for him because he is such a good boy, he kept drinking keeping his throat moist to make the pain tolerable. The nurse said that he has a pretty good pain tolerance.

But during the night since he still sleeps with his mouth open, while not drinking for a prolong period of time, Tylenol is not strong enough as his throat got too dry, making it much more painful. He cried once which is also not good because he was loud which causes more pain for him. Then at around 2 am, he woke up again in pain. He was such a good boy, and I asked him if want to get up and watch some transformer TV and give him quite a lot of water to keep his throat moist and hydrated. Then I went and discuss with the nurse (Yes, another nicest nurse on the planet, name Linda), and we both agreed that he should be using the morphine. Since he had quite a bit of water, morphine hopefully would not upset his stomach too much. And morphine will let him sleep better because it causes sleepiness. And we still gave him Tylenol 2 hours after the morphine so that he doesn't run dry of pain killer as the morphine run out and wake up from pain so much. And I gave him ice cube throughout the night. He was so used to the ice cube that he was swallowing them in his sleep. He was such a cooperative little boy.

So we were ready to be discharged again in the morning at 8:00am. And again, after everything was done, even the IV was removed, he vomitted again. So I guess the morphine still upsets his stomach, even after 8 afters after it was administered. Do we go home, or do we not. Ended up we still chose to go home. He ate half of a Popsicle and some water, and vomited again when we got home. Called our doc office and the receptionist, Auntie-por Kate said we can give him gravol to calm his stomach. It has been great so far after the gravol. No more vomiting and he starts to get an appetite. He ate 2 bowls of congee and still wanted more.

I know that we are on the road of recovery. But just so you know that people said that the pain will come back a week after the surgery. The scabs are often falling off at this time. If bleeding is going to occur, this is the most common time. This pain is usually the last time pain will be experienced. I have taken 3 days off work to take care of Nathan, and am glad that I have done that. He is really dependent right now because he is fragile. By this one week time when the pain might get worse again, I wouldl be back at work already. Victor would have to stay home and hopefully be able to comfort him enough for recovery.

And since I have to be the main caregiver to Nathan, I haven't really spend any time with Naomi. She seems to have grown much bigger in two days. She has been such a good girl. She told grandma that she doesn't need grandma to put her asleep for nap time. She can sleep in her own room. And she did. And in these two days, she seems to be not as attached to me. (At least she doesn't cry when I have to leave and take care of Nathan). Kids are just so understanding. Good girl Naomi.

Hospital update

Last night was a difficult night for Nathan. He was up every four hours (basically when his drug is done) and he would be so upset. At one point he was trying to pull his IV out. A big no no. And kept asking me why I am forcing him to drink water. Just can't reasons with him.

Then when the morning came, the surgeon came by and said that he could go home. So we started packing up. But then a nurse came by, noticing that Nathan was still not drinking enough. They made a rule saying that if he drank 5 little cups of water in 4 hours, we can leave.

Dr. Bear came by and visited. It still didn't help. Nathan just didn't want to drink.

Grandpa gu gu came with a truck. It helped his mood, but still didn't help with the drinking.
We then found that using the syringe helped more. But by 11:00am, he was so exhausted that I let him sleep for a bit. I was thinking to myself if he needed and extra day in the hospital, might as well let it be instead of trying to push him to his discomfort. Then a really rude nurse told me that I must wake him up and force him to drink the two cups of water and leave because they needed the bed. I was so so mad. Nathan is usually really really good with dealing with pain and also really reasonable. I'm not trying to be lazy but we were constantly battling with the water that he just couldn't take anymore. Good that our nurse (Anne) heard this rude nurse and quickly interrupted her by saying that this is not the reason that we would send you home. It's all depend on the kid's progress. And if they need an extra day, that's ok.

So with the next dosage of medication, Nathan took them bravely, even though it hurted. He also managed to force down some water as well. But within 2 minutes, he vomited all the water out, along with the morphine. The nice nurse, Anne, realized that he was actually having a bad reaction to the morphine that he was having. And because she has been listening to the instinct of mom, she allowed us to administer Tylenol every 2 hours in between the dosage of morphine. The nice nurse Anne then decided to give the morphine to Nathan all together and just let him have Tylenol only. It was like night and day. Look at what happened when he wasn't feeling sick from the morphine. Thank you nurse Anne. We are blessed to have all these nice people to take care of us.

Nathan's operation

Thank you very much for all the love and kindness from everybody who cared and prayed for Nathan. His operation went really well, and obviously, he is still in a lot of pain.

Nathan took his new toy Optimus Prime to the operation room with him. He was fairly calm throughout the morning. We recap everything before we left for the hospital to get him ready for the big day.

The first time that he showed a little nervousness was when he was asked to change to his gown. He said that he didn't want to have this operation, not even a little bit. But we were able to distract him very quickly. And then he entered this waiting room with toys....took his mind right off of the operation already.

Then a really nice nurse came in and took temperature and the blood pressure for him. And wow! These ladies are really really nice. They gave him stickers, brought him a "treasure chest" and he was allowed to pick anything he wanted, then gave him a bag of goodies. Then we had to wait some more, so he just kept on playing.

And when he had to go in to the operation room, a child specialist called Laura (their job is the make your kid calm and help him adjust) came out and asked if he wanted to ride in the wagon.

What are you thinking of right now. My thought was totally "you don't know what you are going in for." But it's great that the hospital tries so hard to take care of every little details for your child to make it a better experience for him.

Yet another waiting room. This is where mom and dad kiss Nathan good-bye. The surgeon and anesthetic doctor came and ask you if you have any questions or concern. This is the part that I broke down and cried. Laura had another chestful of toys, including the mask to put him asleep. Bouncy balls, bubbles, etc. Nathan left without even saying good-bye cuz he was just having too much fun. I didn't even get to kiss him.

After Laura dropped him off, she came back out within 3 minutes, saying that he was already asleep. She said that he was the most friendly kids, as he said hi to everybody around the room. She asked him if they should put Optimus Prime asleep, he gave her this funny look and said: "But he is a toy!" Made them all laughed. Laura said he cried for a little bit when they gave him the mask because he didn't like the smell of the gas.

The operation was only suppose to take half an hour. But we waited for almost a full hour before they called us in. Cried a little....starting to have bad thoughts.

Finally, they called us in.

When I was brought to his bedside, he was sitting up right. All he was saying was "I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it........" He was ok calm, (much better than what I anticipated) but you can tell that this poor little kid has been through alot. The nurses put him on my lap, and the first thing he said to me was "How come you made me do this?" His poor little hand was bundle with gauze for his IV injection (they didn't want him to pull on it and hurt himself). Then they gave him this blue container as they asked him to spit out the blood that was making him nausea. I'm glad that I was able to remain very calm. I was able to calm him down immediately by telling him a story. The nurses said he already ate two Popsicles which was really really good because they usually don't want any when they are first waken up.
The hospital was so prepared to take care of little sick children. We immediate got this portable Wii unit that played his favourite movie, Transformer.

Poor boy. He is just in so much pain. It's in agony watching him going through it, but there's really nothing much I can do for him but to let him watch TV, feed him ice chips, ice cream,

or jello......
ceiling of his bed
It just breaks you heart watching him going through this. He never once threw any tantrum. When the pain was too much to bare, he would quietly drip tears from the corner of his eyes......very very said. The nurses said that he's one of the most cooperating kids they have had. (Maybe they say this to all the kids, but I really think he's a really trooper.)
Green drools.
Duck duck ee said that his arm looks like the gun of bumblebee.
And he played in the toy area for a little, still looking sad thou.
Quality of sleep is still a problem. He is still snoring. Also because he's in so much pain, he wakes up every 20 to 30 minutes, coughing or just waken up by the pain. His little face looks like he is in disbelief of how much pain he is feeling. I have never seen him so serious and so sad. I just hope that he can recover quickly. He asked if he can have some of my donuts so I gave some to him. (Then I found out that I wasn't suppose to give him any food until 48 hours after the operation, oops)

Farm visit

We have visited this farm on McCowan Rd and Stouffville Rd. It was such a beautiful day, just a little bit windy. This farm does not require any admission fees to go into the farm. All you have to do is bring your own food for the farm animals. And if you want to, you can give some donation to support the farm. A good place to go to for a relaxing afternoon.

Nathan loves to feed the farm animals. He has been there for a few times with gu gu already, and really knows his way around. He is always generous in term of sharing the carrots with other kids there so they get to feed the animals as well. Naomi was a little hesitant at first, but was finally brave enough to feed the sheep. Good job, mui mui.

And Nathan has this favourite Donkey who is his "best friend". Very funny. And I love to look at him run around. As you can tell, he was having so so much fun there.

Love love love

We were sitting on the steps one evening after dinner when I was reading a book to NN. Naomi was sitting on the second step and I said:

"Be careful, mui mui. Remember how you flew off the second step last time and bruised you face?" (She still has the bruise la)

Before Naomi responded, Nathan said:

"Don't worry, I will sit here protecting her and preventing her from falling.

So Naomi put her arms around him and he was holding her hand back. So I urged Victor to take these pictures cuz they are just so so so sweet. Thank you Lord for the loving kids.

Nathan New favourites

Meggie EE bought these shoes for Nathan way way back when he really liked the show called "Bob the builder." But for the longest time, these shoes has been sitting there because some how he just didn't like them.
But all of the sudden, these shoes became his new favourite shoes. (I know, his feet hasn't been growing too much, and he's still just wearing a size 9). And of course there is a really valid reason. It's because of his new like "Pokemon" You see the bottom of the shoes?

Those circles really look like the pokemon ball.
And so now these are his "pokemon shoes", but not his "bob bob shoes".

I love stickers

Raising a girl is significantly different from a boy. Naomi is so much more attentive to details. Her clothes must be tug in perfectly, Velcro must be sticked on perfectly, hair must be brushed, and she always has to pick her outfit. (With matching colours too). Don't mean to be stereotypical, but she also loves stickers. See how happy she was in this sticker store.

But with one exception that isn't too girly. She does not like dolls and when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she said "truck". And she also loves Optimus Prime.

沃爾瑪的明星

I have to admit, I was invited to shoot commercial for Walmart twice already when I was shopping there. I guess I just have that high class "Walmart expensive style". But I think this pics of gu gu with NN is definitely great as a commercial shoot as well.

We were going to shop for a transformer pajamas for Nathan to wear on his day of operation. But since it's getting warmer, all the pajamas are short sleeve, which would not be appropriate, so we just got some small toys and jello for Nathan for the 2 painful weeks. (For those who don't know, Nathan will be having his operation on Wednesday April 14 for his tonsillectomy.)

Every time I think of how much pain his has to go through, my heart would hurt so much. Looking his skinny face and his tiny body.......Please pray for his courage and bravery and that the operation will go well. He has always been such a reasonably little boy that I know he will do just fine. The surgeon said that there will be at least 5-7 days that he will not be able to eat anything. And we have to be careful to keep his throat moist (meaning that we have to make him drink water often, even thou every sip will be painful) and let him eat ice-cream, jello, yogurt, apple juice, popsicle, etc. I can imagine how we will park him in front of the TV the entire 2 weeks. We will do anything that will make this two weeks easier.......

Best Toy so far

I highly recommend this toy called "TinkerToy" to all parents. It is a really simply concepts with only a couple of different pieces. The pieces are made out of very durable plastics. And since the pieces are big, kids can build some pretty big project without having to put together too too many pieces. This toy truly give them a sense of achievement and yet foster their creativity.
The only problem that I have right now is that Nathan is just too proud of his "works" that he refuses to take them apart and would not let Naomi walk near any of his projects and would say "don't break it don't break it don't break it..." repeatedly to Naomi if she is in proximity to his "works". We are now working on "taking apart one project a day" so that we can make new things.

偷糖果吃

Ever since Chinese New Year, we have been having this jar of candies sitting on our kitchen island. And we, the adults, all walk by casually, daily, eating a few candies here and there.
One day, Victor found Nathan putting something in the garbage can and he asked Nat what it was. Nathan said it was a candy wrapper. Em.....Now here's the problem. Nathan has just recently been granted the permission to eat candy. (He has never had candy legally until at least after 3 and a half, not including those that grandpa gu gu cheated and gave him some Nemo candies but told me that they were crackers) And in order to limit the quantity, I made it really clear to him that he's only allow to have one candy per day. What mommy really means is that "you better not be eating any candy, but if you really really really have to, like some uncles or uncles gu come by and must buy you some candy, then maybe kind of therefore possibly you can eat one, only one, nothing more!"

He has never broken the rule......having one candy per day. What Nathan's interpretation to Mommy's rule became like this: (With classical music playing in the background) "Because I'm now old enough, mommy said that I can eat one candy per day, everyday".

Did he break the rule? Hard to say. Daddy and mommy at first thought that he was being sneaky and stealing candy. But as we discuss this a few times, we finally came to an understanding that he was just

1. Following mommy's rule (but kind of twisting it a bit)
2. Following mommy's example (Very positive role model for always munching on the candies)

So he really wasn't "stealing candy", but being the law abide citizen and followed mommy's rule swiftly, and faithfully.

Fantasy Fair Part II

There were not alot of things that Nao liked at the Fantasy Fair, because things are too new and too fast. When she was little, she wasn't afraid of anything. But now, as her knowledge to the world grows, she's starting to take her time when expose to a new situation, which is extremely healthy. So we let her explore things at her own pace. And as she get uses to a new situation, she can then truly enjoys it.

And since I know that we are not going to have another kid, I'm also going to take my time and enjoy any moments that she can be a little attached and clinging. My selfish way of saying "don't grow up too fast and let mommy enjoys it as long as I can, baby girl" cuz boy, do they ever grow so quickly.

Nao pancake

This is the first time that Naomi cook anything..... Pancake it was. (Well, just pancake mix thou, but it's already pretty good considering mom's expertise in cooking). I can definitely see the difference between NN when they cook. Nathan is really quick and efficient like grandpa, while Naomi is much more patience and laid back like grandma. But both of them are super clean. (Like quickly using their face cloth to wipe the counter clean if there was a little spill).

Metro Zoo

It was such a beautiful day the zoo. It was packed with people so we had to park fairly far away. Good that we had this great wagon plus a strong daddy to tug us up the hill and down the road and cross the street.
花豬 and 花豬媽媽爸爸
Nathan on the Safari Jeep. So so cute.
A very old elephant. Two out of the three elephants actually pee-pee. Quite the scene.
And of course Naomi ate the entire trip. And 花豬 and Nathan had Popsicle.
