Jayden's tree

I promised Jayden that from now on, I will get him one ornament every year until he is 35 years old.

1. We now have a harder time getting up in the morning (he used to be up at 6:30 and ready to rock the world, but now 8 o'clock practice is a dread....)
2. More vocal about likes and dislikes, sometimes even give attitude (black mouth black face)
3. Need to talk to him like a adult and allow more room for freedom
4. Like to tour the teen section of the comic section in the library, meaning it's almost out of mommy's comfort level because graphics novel can have language graphic that is inappropriate for preteen but I wouldn't know. (Daddy is now my referring expert, but his level of acceptable is not the same as mine...)
5. Taking on more responsibility at home, sometimes. He would now pick reading over cooking, but he would still help when he is asked (not like before, cooking was like playing, but I guess it's no longer new and fun)
6. Very good and patience when working with children. You can see the true enjoyment when playing with the little ones
7. In general, a gentle, reasonable , and kind kid

Skating fun

We originally wanted to go to an outdoor skating trail at Richmond green, but the day was getting late and the weather is getting cold, mommy just wasn't up to the challenge that we decided (well, I decided...) that we would just go recreational skating with the kids. It was a nice relaxing skate. NN had an agreement with each other that they would take turn skating and taking care of mommy. (Yep, mommy barely move on ice.)

And good boy Owen can now skate with both legs pushing on ice.

Archery

Nathan enjoys archery a whole lot since camp chimo, that we decided to sign up for an archery camp for the first time.

First impression, it's very safe. Nathan said that the instructor spent 1 hour on talking about safety on the first day. (The camp is a 3-hour program) Taking sarcastic aside, safety is ultimately the most important.

But another impression is that there is lots of wait time during the camp. The group is splited into 2 sections, taking turn shooting 3 arrows, fetching them, returning them, and sit and wait for your next turn. So if you do the math, each day there are more than 1.5 hours just sitting there, doing nothing, which is not something that Nathan is capable of. You are supposed to sit and watch if it's not your turn.

So on the second day, Nathan asked to bring a book to read. He said that someone on the other lineup takes forever loading and shooting. I thought why not, and has discussed with Nathan only during the times that he is waiting. But oops, we got talked to on the last day, and I had take his books away.

The instructor said that Nathan shouldn't be reading a book while waiting, because he should be watching the other people shooting, and continuing reading the safety rules over and over while waiting.

But after all, Nathan had a good time.

He met some good friends, and he said that the instructors were really nice and one of them can hit the bullseye, once. (While the other instructors couldn't even got the target....)

Naomi's goal

Naomi has been playing defense the whole time. As her coach from 2 years ago says "you da wall", Naomi truly feels that her job is to be the wall and defense.

What suprised us is that she actually did really good as a center as well. I have never seen her work so hard. I guess she takes her role really seriously (and stubbornly) that she will not do anything else that isn't her duty. As a center, she skates up and done the whole rink protecting the goalie, which shooting on net, like she is someone else. And she skated so hard!

I might ask the coaches to give her a chance to be the wingers or center for some games so that she learn to play the game with a bigger horizon.

New Eye mask

Since Hilda bought these 4 new sleeping eye masks for Naomi, grandma says that Naomi should make a video to thank Yun Yun gu jei. I think what grandma meant was to make a video that says thank you. Naomi took it really seriously and decided to direct a movie making use of all four masks.

But the funny thing is the common theme of all the mask: "I don't want to go to school"........ (Sweating....)

Yan's cousin fun time

Can't wait until our gathering on the 31st! Naomi is already asking if she can stay til 12 for the count down.

Naomi Wrist shot

Naomi is getting better with her wrist shot because as you know, we are such hard cord hockey family that daddy bought this mat for the basement for NN to practice wrist shot. Naomi is getting better and better in lifting the puck off the ground. I guess our next step is hopefully be able to apply this on ice.
