H1N1 Vaccination

Yes, we lined up for 5 hours to get our needles. I was just too afraid, especially with Nathan in school and everything. The line up were full with parents with their kids, but it was actually very peaceful. We became one big happy family with people who were lining up with us.

When we finally got in, the scenic was amazing. It was filled with wailing kids either not wanting to get the needle, or is crying after the needle. But as you can see, our two brave kids didn't even cry at all.

Nao's number

I think that it's normal for all parents to think that their kids are smart. I'm one of them. Naomi recognized numbers and letters and can put the correct numbers at the right place. She has mastered shape sorters, and can count to up to four. And she can clearly express herself in terms of what she wants by using one to two words.

(Hee hee, I know she wasn't too successful in this video :)

Look who's sleepy

We went to dim sum last Saturday and Naomi fell asleep in the car. Usually, Naomi is really snobby with Victor. Most of the time she wouldn't let him touch her. But since she is asleep, Victor seize the opportunity and quickly picked her up cuz he really wanted to hold her.

Pee bucket

One day I found some pee in the waste basket in the bathroom. Well, you wonder who did that. Obviously it was Nathan. So I asked him why did he do that. Guess what? He had a really valid reason. Mommy just laid down the law saying that everytime after you go to the bathroom, you should flush the toilet and wash your hand. And since it is very troublesome to have to do so many things after you peed in the toilet, a wonderful alternative would be to pee in the waste basket instead so that you don't have to flush or wash your hand......Men.

What's that in your hair?

See that yucky stuffs on Nathan's hair? They are the unbreakable bubble. Basically glue. We bought them from the dollar store and they last a long time. But sometimes the bubble would get too thick that they become really gluey and won't form bubbles. Then all you have to do is pour some water and mix it out and it would work. And since Nathan saw me doing that for a few times (pouring water into bubbles), he thinks that everytime when he runs out of bubble, all he has to do is add some water and it would work......or not :) Very cute.

Nathan's Jello

This was the first time Nathan made his jello, and it was also his first time eating Jello. (Yes I know, we are kinna strict in term of what he can eat). He liked it so much.

Parent-teacher interview

We went to Nathan's new school to meet his new teacher. He seems really nice. Nathan is really lucky since he always has great teachers. It's very different setting compared to the Montessori school that he went to. Victor and I felt much better because we didn't know how Nathan would adjust to a regular public school. Luckily his teacher seems very nice and have great sense of humours. I know that Nathan is not the type of kids who is extremely obedient, but he is great when you take the time to love him and accept him as who he is --> very energic and curious, and active. His new teacher seems like just the right kind of people who would appreciate him as who he is and not be judgamental because he does not follow directions perfectly.

Oops, I spelled my name wrong.

Fireworks at First Markham Place

We also went to the firework shows at First Markham place. It was supposed to start at 9:30pm. So we left home at 9:10, got there at 9:20, parked our car, and then the show started. It was the first time for Naomi and we thought that it might be too loud for her. But NOPE! Not a problem at her.

When the show started, we didn't know how many there would be. When when the first firstwork went up to the sky, there were a pause in between before the second went up. We thought it was finished so we said "做完?" (finish) Then Naomi copied us and said "做完" every time there was a pause. It's funny how much she talks now.

Victor took some nice pictures of the kids while they were watching the fireworks. Nathan's smile was priceless. But as I told you, due to slow connection, any picture from that big camera is not being posted anytime soon. Sorry!

Markham fair 2009

We went to the Markham fair on Thursday, and it was a nice day for Nathan because he got to ride on all these Mighty Machines. He was flicking all the buttons and levels. I'm actually worried that the drivers who drive these bulldozer will get in trouble.

The firefighters actually set up a game for the little kids to go through obstacles and put out fires using bean bags and hoses. Nathan looked so cute. I originally took a great video capturing the whole run, but my phone frozed and I lost the video. (sucks!)

I also took pics using the big camera as well. Maybe later I will upload some photos la, maybe.....

Pumpkinland

We were going to go hiking with uncle Alex and auntie duck duck on sat. But because it was going to rain, we think that it's not a good idea to take Nathan to slippery hiking trail.....so we went pumpkin picking instead. We didn't actually go into the play area. (We are going to go next sat instead being hopeful that the weather would be nicer.) We just went to the back of the market picking out pumpkin. (Naomi was sleeping in the car)

Nathan had such a good time picking out all these little pumpkins and putting them in the wheel barrel.

So finally when Naomi woke up, we bought her 3 small pumpkins.

Fellowship picnic 2009

We went to picnic with church fellowship in a hot summer day. It actually warms up my heart just from seeing the photos of the kids shorts and bareback dress in this cold autumn rainy weather. The kids had tones of fun.

Uncles BBQing while kids played with bubbles
Thanks to all the uncles who drove us around. (Trust me, it wasn't easy pulling a trailer on grass)
Then we went to the beach. It was Nao first encounter with sand. She was pretty brave. It only took her 2 times to jumped right in and played with the sand.
Whose feet are these?

Fearless Naomi was going to jump right in the water.

The frustration of slow connection

I just realize how much I took it for granted for a fast internet connection back in the old house. We are now in our new house, but everything is on wireless right now. Yes, it's convenience, but very slow in load pictures and video. Everytime I try to load a pictures (they are usually around 6MB), my computer will "semi-freeze" for about 2 minutes. Good that I have my marking here so that I can make on these waiting period. It makes photo editing / uploading extremely difficult. Don't worry, I complain and complain to Victor so much that I think hubby will very soon sort it out. :) (With Uncle Roberto's help soooooon!) (Thanks in advance :)
