Chinese Poem #2

Grandma has been teaching Nathan some Chinese poems. At the beginning, he soaked them up like a sponge, remembering the poems one after another. And all we had to do was asked him, and he would performed them for us, proudly. Lately, he seems to have hit a threshold, either in memorizing them or in presenting them. This is the best that we can get so far.

Can you recognize the poem?

Mom's birthday

This year has been special because I have received the best gift ever, my son and my daughter, making our lovely family even more special.

Nathan went to the town center (with his dad of course) and bought me the precious moment figures which I absolutely LOVE. Then they came home and Nathan told me that because mommy has been good that he bought me a birthday cake as well.

Another exciting gift is the final completion of the hand impressions. For those of you who tried it, (we tired it with Nathan's feet when he was 1 month old), it's really not that simple. Waiting for the thing to be hard enough (but not too hard) to leave an impression definitely took waaaaaaaaay longer than 5 min (as written on the instruction). Then getting Naomi to open her hand, spread her fingers apart, kept her still, pushed her palm down on the surface hard enough, as well as washed her hands before she tried to lick it. Then don't forget that fact that Nathan really wanted to help the whole time. ("Nathan, you can't touch that.", "Stop pushing on her hand.", "Nathan, can you give us some room please!", "No no no, you can't poke a hole on here".....). You get the picture right!?! I'm thrilled that we finally did it. YEAH!!

Btw, Nathan helped painted the stars, the heart and the background. Good job, Nathan.

Funny Conversation

Here's the usual conversation between Nathan and Naomi:

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- ahhhhhhh" (Imagine the tone as peekaboo)
Naomi: "AHHHHHHHHHH!" (Screaming)

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- ahhhhhhh"
Naomi: "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- ahhhhhhh. You can't pull people's hair"
Naomi: "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- ahhhhhhh. Don't grab my shirt"
Naomi: "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- ahhhhhhh. How come your feet is so small?"
Naomi: "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- ahhhhhhh. You can't put this in your mouth"
Naomi: "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Nathan: "Mui Mui ----------- Ma-me po po." (Mom pick me up.)

Hair band

Ever since Naomi was born, she has lots of nice shinny hair. With the experience of the first baby, we are prepared for the fact that the hair will eventually all fall off. With Nathan, almost all the hair was gone within six months, so he just looked kinda bald, like most babies. But with Naomi, it's happening much slower. So here's the senario, half of Naomi's hair is gone (mostly the one at the forehead and the bottom) and she looks like she has receding hair line. We wanted to cut it shorter but afraid that she would look really bad. So giving her accessories became the only solution for now.

Picture perfect

Maggie Auntie por has requested a nice photograph of Nathan and Naomi long long time ago. Well, here's the story. We all know that it has never been easy trying to capture the moments for a baby ..... even more difficult for a preschooler and a baby ..... and a preschooler who can't sit still and a baby who can't sit well .....

..... and the worst of all, a preschooler who takes off leaving the baby tumbling on the floor.

Mighty Machine

Nathan loves machines. Ranging from airplane, street cleaner, garbage truck, train, farm tractors, trucks, construction vehicle, plus others. He can tell you that garbage gets pick up and ship to landfill or incinerator, or the name of the pilot who was the first to cross the pacific ocean.

So here are some of his favourite construction wee-ya-cals. I never knew what there were called, and never realized how many of these construction vehicles there are actually around us. (It's when you have someone screaming from the back of the car "MOMMY! LOOK! Dumb truck! Dumb truck!" that you know indeed they are surrounding you.)

Chucky Cheese

Nathan loves to go to Chucky Cheese with Grandpa. The great thing about going to chucky cheese would be the tokens that he gets.....He gets to play with anything he wants. Every time he deposits his token, he would spend 60% of the time (at least) looking at other things/people.

You can tell how much he will enjoy going to wonderland (other than the fact that he almost fell off the seat.)

Fashion 101

This army dress was bought 2 months ago, size 18 months, which was suppose to be for next year spring/summer. Since it is getting cooler outside, I started clearing out their summer closet and preparing for fall with long sleeves, and trousers. (Yeah, sadly Naomi's legs are gonna be much more covered up). Anyway, I saw this outfit and I thought, "What if it doesn't fit next year anymore?"

Being a smart mom takes dedication. Luckily Naomi tried on the dress.

Tight indeed. As you can see, the dress is a little clinging on the waist and the bum bum. I'm glad that we at least took some photos, such that it's not a complete waste of money if it's too small for next year.

Always remember to buy a size larger since those labels aren't always accurate.

My Little Princess

It's always been fun having Nathan around. He is extremely expressive and creative, yet funny. Like this morning, when he was leaving for school, he told me to "remember to take good care of mui mui la." We are really blessed to have a daughter as well. Obviously, they look so much alike, but yet so different. And one of biggest different would be the clothing. IT'S SO MUCH FUN TO DRESS A GIRL!!!!

This is one of our favourite dresses. We are hoping to take pictures of all the wardrobes that we like before she outgrows them (Yes, babies do grow really really fast).

Mom New Hobby

Here is mom's little new hobby.....playing with photoscape! Thanks to Auntie Corrie, I can now edit photos and make them fun.

Bro luvs sis

Nathan loves Naomi. Whenever he has a chance, he will want to play with her. And this was a game that Nathan loves to play: "Kiss Naomi on the cheek as hard as he can." It's funny seeing Naomi's face all squash up.

Hands and Feet

One of the cutest things about babies are their hand and feet. It's truly amazing that you can keep lookin' and playin' with them and you would never grow tired of them. I told Victor that I'm willing to have another kid just to get to see those chubby little knuckles again. Hee hee, and of course, Victor's respond was "Are you KD?"
