Guitar

Nathan's progress in guitar is quite amazingly slow. But he sure looks so cool when he is playin'. Keep practicing baby!

Guess what song!?!

Can you tell what song he is playing? It's called the lazy song. A prize for you if you guessed it right!

An exciting week at school

Tuesday:
Nathan's teacher wrote in his agenda about him shooting elastic and how it's unacceptable to shoot elastic in school.  Of course we understand the general norm wrt to elastic, but how can a 6 years old resist the good fun of shooting elastic, especially after daddy taught him how to properly shoot an elastic (Way to go, DADDY!!! GRRRR!), and that grandma happened to put an elastic on his thermo to hold his fork.

Solution:  Mommy having a talk with Nathan on how it is not right to be shooting elastic because someone can get hurt.

"Mommy, how about if I shoot it under the table."
"No, Nathan, not even under the table...."

Wednesday:
Another note from teacher complaining that he is still shooting the elastic.  Nathan said that he wasn't shooting it at anybody.  He aimed at the ceiling.... (em.... I guess that's acceptable then, right?)

Solution:  We now really made it clear that he is not to touch the elastic at all.  The elastic is now bonded with the thermo and is not allowed to depart from the thermo....

Thursday:

Today, Nathan did not play with elastic because he was such a good boy that he listened to mommy.
Teacher called and said that he was kicking the custodian's car....(don't ask me how he can even have a chance to kick the custodian's car).  Nathan said that the car was broken already.

"No Nathan.  We don't make thing more broken just because something is already broken."

Friday:
I called and left a message with the teacher reassuring that everything is ok.  Nathan is probably just having alot of coincidences while I was driving home from work.  Got home, and guess what!!!  The vice principal called!  This time we have to explain using a picture.

It has always been challenging to ask Nathan to retell a story because his chain of thoughts literally does not exist, especially when he was trying to describe a fight.  So good old daddy came up with this great idea of using a diagram to help Nathan recall as much details as possible.  (Nathan asked if he can draw the background like the playground.)

So this is what happened:

N and D were two boys chasing after these two girls S and C.  S and C ran towards Nathan, and told him what happened.   Superhero Nathan decided to take matter in his own hand, recruiting three of his buddies, and in lightning speed, sped towards N and D and punched them out.  Nathan took N (whom he described as fast but not very strong), while his other friends fought D (who is stronger).  Nathan said that he surprise attacked N, threw his glasses on the ground.  Then N fought back, and pinched Nathan on his face, scaring him.  Nathan insisted that he won the battle thou.  Daddy asked why did he surprised attacked N, he said that it gives him a better chance to KO him.

Was mommy mad with all these things that happen?  I actually don't even know what to feel.  I have to say thou, I was pretty amazed about a few things:

1.  Protecting his friends.  (He is so good with the ladies)
2.  In such short period of time, "pull horse" and found 3 of his buddies
3.  Very strategically plan the whole battle in his head in lightning speed, and distribute his resources
to maximize his chance of winning
4. He is so cute.

Just hope that there is no more notes this week........

早晨全餐

Every Sunday we now have a lovely ritual. NN and I cook breakfast together.

Menu:
Cheese and ham omlette
Waffle
Pancake
Cereal
Milk
Tea
Orange juice

Nathan's job is to crack and beat the eggs + prepare the batter for pancake. Naomi's job is to cut the cheese + eating more than half of the cheese + setting the table.

You like Naomi's version of cheese waffle?

Meal time = TV time

Not a single person is paying attention to what he / she is eating.
