Earthworm anatomy

Today during dinner time, I asked Nathan if he did anything interesting today at school. To my surprise, Nathan said a few of them built some mud pie for a mommy earthworm to give birth.  He said they actually watched hatching of the cocoon and baby worms were coming out.

We discussed about how earthworm has both male and female reproductive organs, and how they form a cocoon.

Then Nathan said that that mommy worm has allergy.  She has red spots all over the body, and she has a big hump on her body.  (That's because it was carrying the cocoon).  Interesting observation of Nathan.  Him and his friends must be so careful in watching the whole process.

Then at bedtime, we talked about the regeneration ability of star fishes.  Now we have to borrow a book from the library about mollusk which he saw in a library.

Wow is that what kids at Nathan's age talks about? I better sharpen my science knowledge...
